A Locket Full Of Love

Sonic POV

I ran cutting through the warm summer air. Amy Rose was after me again. “Sonic! Please stop.” I heard her pant, probably stopped to catch her breath. I actually stopped this time, for a reason unknown. I turned and watched her approach me with a hand over her heart as she breathed hard. “Thank you.” She sighed as she approached me.
“Amy I don’t want to have to run away from you anymore. I just want to be friends and stay friends.” I said quietly. A tiny bit of shock formed on her face. Luckily she didnt seem sad. It would  kill me if I made her cry.
“I actually wasnt going to talk about that, but I...understand. I just wanted to give you,” She reached into a pocket of her jeans and pulled out an object, “this.” she gently grasped my hand and curled my fingers around the object. And without a word she turned around and walked away. I uncurled my fingers to reveal a golden locket. I had a beautifully carved rose on the front. Above the rose was the word Friends. I flipped it over and saw the word Forever. Underneath Forever it said ‘As long as your with me’. I opened it now feeling a little guilty for some reason. There was a picture of us and some words which were , ‘or lovers’.
“Friends or lovers forever as long as your with me.” I whispered to myself. ‘Damn it, why cant I just tell her. It hurts to have to say things like I only want to be friends. Cause I don’t I want way way much more than that.’ I thought. ‘I cant run from the truth for ever’. I clasped the locket necklace around my neck and started to run. After a couple seconds I found Amy exiting the park.

Amys POV

I was just leaving the park when I felt someone wrap their arm around my waist and spin me around. I almost screamed until I saw that it was Sonic. His next move was unexpected and shocking. His lips pressed hard against mine in a wanting, needing way. My eyes widened then slowly shut as I started to kiss back. It was a dream come true. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled myself closer to him. I could feel his reluctance as he pulled away.
“I lied,” he whispered his breath washing over my face,”I would much rather choose lovers.” I was absolutely shocked. I gently touched the locket around his neck and smiled. “I have always loved you Amy Rose.” He pulled me tight against him. Tears of pure joy escaped my eyes as I rested my head against his shoulder.
